It has been a while since Facebook rolled out Local Awareness Ads. In order to create more personalized ads experience, Facebook renewed Location Page, location management and Dynamic Local Ads in Nov, 2015. This year, Local Awareness Ads makes breakthrough in format of creatives, letting ads more eye-catching, turning online users into buyers, leading people to physical stores.

I、Updated Locations Managements and Dynamics Ads

We had introduced you Location Page and Dynamic Local Ads within Local Awareness Ads, these two functions help you to rapidly create multi-location ads. System will automatically substitute information such as address and phone number into Location Pages and lead users to the shop nearest to them.

In this quarter, Facebook made new progress.

Former Process:Applying for creating Location Page whitelist [note 1] > Turn on managing Location Page and information > Using Dynamic Local Ads.

Current Process:Applying for creating location management whitelist > Managing multi-location information > Using Dynamic Local Ads.

In other words, you don’t have to publish individual Location Pages to utilize Dynamic Local Ads, you just need to add location information. The pros of no need to create Location Pages is that when your products are sold in supermarkets or drug stores instead of your own shops, you are still able to use Dynamic Local Ads. II、Renewed Ads Creative Formats

Crousel

Previously, Local Awareness Ads are limited to use only photos as creatives. However, now you can select videos or carousel to express your story and creativity as well! To be worth mentioning, in addition to photos and videos, you can also add Map Card in carousel to visualize your shop location to users. This Map Card will accompanied by the Call to Action button of “Get Direction”. When user click the button, the system will automatically open your Map App and substitute location information to guide you there. Immediately below, we will introduce you design recommendations:

     1. One Photo

  • Recommended image size: 1200 x 628 pixels
  • Image ratio: 1.9:1
  • Text: 90 characters
  • Headline: 25 characters
  • News Feed description: 30 characters
  • Your image may not include more than 20% text.

     2. One Video

  • Format:mp4 or mov
  • Resolution:at least 720p
  • Aspect Ratio:16:9
  • Length:60 minutes max

     3. Carousel

  • Recommended image size: 1080 x 1080 pixels
  • Aspect Ratio:1:1
  • Your image may not include more than 20% text.

III、Q&A

1. May I add different Call to Action in each Carousel card?
No. We can’t make each normal carousel card has a different Call to Action button. However we can set Call to Action button in normal carousel cards different from in Map Card.

2. How Many Locations Can I Have in My Page ?
You can have 200 locations for maximum.

3. How to apply for creating Location Pages whitelist ?

4. How to apply for creating and managing location information whitelist ?
